Our Experience

We provide services to Bolivian and foreign clients, individuals and companies, non-governmental organizations and international cooperation agencies.

We know in detail the country´s legal and regulatory system, because we actively participated in the legal and economic reforms conducted by the Bolivian State since 1993.

Our Law Firm members have been active part of debates and drafting of numerous laws in Bolivia, including the Hydrocarbons Law No. 1689, the Telecommunications Law No. 1632, the SIRESE Law No. 1600, the Electricity Law No. 1604, the Securities Market Law No. 1834, the Pensions Law No. 1732, and the Insurance Law No. 1883. We have been involved in the regulations drafting as well.

Between 1998 and 2003, we advised Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), the National Oil Company, in its double role as aggregator and shipper of Bolivian gas production for export to Brazil, through the Bolivia-Brazil gas pipeline. Our legal advice included negotiations and drafting of Gas Transportation Agreements (up to 30.08 million cubic meters per day) and negotiations related to the Gas Sales Agreement between YPFB and Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras).

Our Law Firm was active part of the whole development of the Securities and Stock Market in Bolivia, mainly including the drafting of the Securities Market Law, the institutional development of the Bolivian Stock Exchange (Bolsa Boliviana de Valores S.A.), incorporation and advisory services to the main stock exchange brokers in Bolivia, as well as the institutional development of the Entidad de Depósito de Valores S.A. – EDV S.A., responsible for the dematerialization of securities and their registration. Being the law firm with the largest clientele in the securities market in Bolivia, allow us to know the major financial transactions.

We have developed close relationships with the Andean Development Corporation (CAF), the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Particular relevance is our provision of services as strategic advisors, in the face of the changing political reality in Bolivia.
